Found Pets
Found a Lost Pet?
If the pet that you found is not in need of emergency medical care, our staff will gladly perform a microchip check in order to help you locate an owner. We are conveniently open 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Please understand that EVH is not a licensed animal shelter and cannot house found pets that are stable.
After the microchip check the pet will be returned to you, you then have the options of holding onto the pet until an owner is found or taking it to your local shelter during normal business hours.
If the pet that you found requires emergency critical care, please bring the pet to the hospital. Our staff will need to gather some information from you and then we will triage the pet to determine the severity of illness/injury. If the pet is deemed “critical”, EVH will work with the jurisdiction within Lane County where they were found in order to provide the best possible care.
If the pet is found to be stable, the pet will be returned to you in order to facilitate finding the owner or find a local shelter to house the pet until the owner can be found.
