Neurology services are available at Emergency Veterinary Hospital (EVH) Tuesday through Friday with our staff Neurologist, Dr. John Du.
Our team provides advanced neurological care to help diagnose, manage, and treat neurological conditions in pets.
John Du, DVM, DACVIM (Neuro)
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Du earned his DVM degree in Taiwan before moving to the United States to complete his DVM-equivalent training at the University of Missouri (PAVE). He completed internships in Virginia and South Carolina and graduated from his neurology residency at Mississippi State University in 2025. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary neurology, including seizure management and neurosurgery, with a particular focus on owner education.

What is a Veterinary Neurologist?
Some pets experience nervous system injury or deterioration as they age. The results of a neurological disorder can be alarming to pet owners; thankfully, some of these disorders can be treated. Each pet and family is unique, so our neurologists take an individualized approach to each patient. They will thoroughly discuss medical and surgical therapeutic options and work with you to determine the best option for you and your pet.
What can you expect during a neurology appointment?
Neurologists at EVH have access to specialized diagnostic and surgical equipment, the latest and safest anesthesia monitoring equipment, and will collaborate with our Emergency & Critical Care Department to provide optimal care for your pet. Our team is available by appointment and on call for emergencies, alongside our highly trained and dedicated staff, to make sure your pet receives optimal care at any time of the day.
