Neurology services are currently available three Tuesdays per month at Emergency Veterinary Hospital.

DR. megan steele
DVM, DACVim (Neurology)
Dr. Megan Steele grew up in central Pennsylvania, did her undergraduate degree at the Pennsylvania State University before receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Steele completed a small animal rotating internship at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, MA, and then a specialty neurology internship at the Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles, CA. In 2015 she completed her neurology residency at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and became a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She has worked in Los Angeles, California, and the Pacific Northwest.

Her special areas of interest include neurosurgery and Chiari-like malformation. In her spare time, Dr. Steele enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs, goats, and riding horses.
Dr. Steele is a Co-owner and co-medical director at BVER and will also be working in the neurology department.
Dr. Molly Kelley
DVM, Msc
Dr. Molly Kelley is a Colorado native that also was raised in North Carolina. She pursued her undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she double majored in Zoology and French. Following veterinary school, she spent several years working with veterinary pathologists in translational biomedical research before returning to the University of Wisconsin for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she completed a small animal rotating internship VCA Alameda East in Colorado, followed by a specialty Emergency and Critical Care internship with a special interest in Neurology in at North Carolina State University.

In 2021, she completed her Neurology residency at the University of Edinburgh where she also was awarded a Master of Science degree with Distinction. As much as she loved Scotland (and still does!), she chose to return to the USA to be closer to family. She has since worked in Texas, Utah, and North Carolina but was thrilled to join the BVER team in the Pacific Northwest. Her special areas of interest include neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and management of inflammatory brain diseases. Dr. Kelley enjoys working closely with clients to establish long term care for chronic neurological conditions as well as providing compassionate care for pets and families during neurological emergencies.
In her free time, Dr. Kelley enjoys taking nature walks on the Oregon coast with her Doberman mix, Ripp, or reading a good book with her cat, Hazel.
